On December 29th, 2017, the signing ceremony for the strategic cooperation agreement and donation between SUSTech and the Li Weibo Charitable Foundation affiliated to the Glory Harvest Group was held in the International Conference Hall of the Administrative Building of SUSTech. SUSTech University Council Chairperson and President of the Educational Foundation Guo Yurong, SUSTech President and Vice President of the Education Foundation Chen Shiyi, SUSTech's Vice President, Provost and Council Member of Education Foundation Wu Chuanyue, President of the Li Weibo Charitable Foundation and Chairman of the Board of Glory Harvest Group Li Weibo, Chief Operating Officer of Glory Harvest Group Liu Zheng, Vice President of Glory Harvest Group Zhang Yanlei and Vice President of Glory Harvest Group Huang Xiyin attended the signing ceremony, which was presided over by SUSTech's Chief Financial Officer and Vice President of Education Foundation Ye Qin.

Chen Shiyi delivered a speech at the ceremony in which he stated his appreciation for the generous donation of Mr. Li Weibo on behalf of SUSTech. He said that SUSTech's goal is to build itself into a word-class research university, and aims becoming a leading entrepreneurship center in China. He said that SUSTech's focuses on cultivating scientists with entrepreneurship skills and entrepreneurs with scientific qualities, who will be able to take advantage of the infinite opportunities created between SUSTech and Shenzhen's enterprises to serve the society, support technological advancements and contribute to the economic development of the city and country.

He also pointed out that higher education reform remains a daunting task. The partnership between the two parties, which entails strategic cooperation, complementary advantages and a mutually beneficial relationship between SUSTech and Glory Harvest Group will further enhance the interaction between the university and enterprises, strengthening SUSTech's characteristic pillars - "Research, Innovation and Entrepreneurship", and further drive SUSTech forward to become an top global university.

Li Weibo also made a speech in which he said that 2018 is the opening year of economic construction of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era after "the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China", a crucial year for continued deepening of national supply-side reform, and also the starting year of new policies for the development of top colleges and universities. The new era comes with new tasks and new requirements; this has very important significance both for SUSTech and for Glory Harvest Group. Mr. Li Weibo said that he wishes to take this donation as an opportunity to cooperate with SUSTech to build an innovative industry-university-research cooperation base, which will support the operation of an incubator platform and promote the commercialization of scientific and technological achievements. In short, he said his group hopes to work hard alongside the university to realize the ambitious goal of building SUSTech into a world-class university as soon as possible.

President Chen Shiyi and Mr. Li Weibo then signed the strategic cooperation and donation agreement.
At the donation ceremony, Mr. Li Weibo handed over the donation cheque to Secretary Guo Yurong. Glory Harvest Group will make good use of its industrial and capital advantages to support the university's development.

Later on, leaders of SUSTech and the Li Weibo Charitable Foundation unveiled the nameplates for the "SUSTech-Li Weibo Innovation Research Center" and "Innovation Entrepreneurship Center" together; and the parties reiterated their wish to integrate industry-university-research with corporate cooperation through their joint efforts and collaborative innovation to lead the industry development.
